Sullacqua has outdone herself this year: New Year's Day is perfectly successful , with a surprising presence of over 100 members, guests and friends who came from near and far.
The evening had a high-sounding title but did not betray the expectations: the journey into the world of sea kayaking "offered everyone the opportunity to travel kayak ideally both in Italy and abroad.
In the crowded hall of the Abbey, cheered by the mellow notes of the Celtic harp, we briefly presented our last summer trip Crete: We only had 15 minutes to tell the 30 continuous days at sea (and very busy) in the Kingdom of the Meltemi.
The evening was so full of speeches and proposals and movie appearances and awards we have chosen to present a shortened version of the voyage, condensing everything into little more than 70 images and some explanation on the places reached by sea ... I hope to have aroused the interest of friends, however, kayakers, we postponed the story "long" presentations in the next evening program with nearly 150 pictures to discover the island of Minos, its beauty and its harshness.
The emotion was still really great when one of the first slide has ripped the applause "on open stage" of the large audience: the Presidential Medal conferred on the kayak trip is a little felt by all as a collective that has won prestigious award certainly not us two solitary navigators but rather our common passion for the sea and our shared desire for adventure, stimulating all to do more and better ... and in fact, travel and future projects never fail!
The night Sullacqua meeting was a perfect party : this year more than 100 friends were coming from near and far to live all togheter a "trip into the sea kayak world".
The night started with a celtic harp playing before and after the slide-shows about different sea kayak trips: we have had just 15 minutes to tell our summer adventure into the Kingdom of the Meltemi wind and we were very happy to resume the 30 days of navigation: a little can go a long way, so we hope to have piqued someone's curiosity andwe will wait for the next Crete trip presentations to count better and longer that marvellous island.
